  • Please welcome a fine work of handicraft art, where traditional Estonian knitting style is combined with Seto patterns. The pattern depicts berries or flowers and I saw it on an exhibition in Obinitsa Museum in Setoland, ESTONIA. Year 2025 has been the Year of Colorwork Mittens in Setomaa and we had many wonderful exhibitions and events to celebrate this deep mitten knitting heritage of Estonia. Tightly knitted using 0-size needles and DK weight yarn. The red and green yarns are hand dyed, 100% Estonian wool. The white yarn is natural sheep color from Estonia. They are perfect to block wind and wear in winter. The cuff is finely lacy. The gloves are color-worked all the way to the fingertips, which makes them warmer than average thin one-layer gloves. The yarn being rather thin makes them very comfortable to wear and they fit like a second skin. Women's size approximately 8.
