The fourth biggest lake in Europe is Lake Peipus in Estonia. Standing on its shore it feels like you are near a sea. Not too far from the lake is a wonderful handicraft and wellness farm called Turgi Talu. Turgi farm hostess Veinika Västrik is an experienced weaving teacher and author of several handbooks for weavers. Estonian coastline is very long for a small area - 3800 km, the majority of which are the coastlines of the islands. The coastline of the continent is 1240 km long. Estonia has 2222 islands, most of them are very tiny. But some of them are big and tensely populated, their history and traditions reaching back thousands of years. Haapsalu Lacy Shawl is world famous. We are organizing this tour in August, because as always in August there will be the Haapsalu Lace Festival. Participants will be able to attend the festival on Sunday, August 18th, filled with marvelous activities, knitting competition, exhibitions and much more. Western Estonia is rich in beautiful handicraft techniques. During three days we will learn to knit the Haapsalu Lace Shawl instructed by the best local master Siiri Reimann.
