#184: Finely Knitted Estonian Gloves in Halliste Mulgi Style with Red and Natural Brown Sheep Color Cross Pattern

115.00

Knitted with two colored yarn in traditional Estonian fair-isle style. The pattern is an ancient Estonian pattern depicting crosses and stars. It comes from Halliste area in historic Mulgi region, nowadays in Viljandi County, ESTONIA.
It is called a Cross Pattern, ristikiri.
Tightly knitted using 0-size needles and DK weight yarn. The red yarn is hand dyed, 100% wool from Estonia. The brown is sheep color yarn from Kihnu island. They are perfect to block wind and wear in winter. Beautiful lacy ribbing is very elegant, like a bracelet around your wrist.

The gloves are colorworked all the way to the fingertips, which makes them warmer than average thin one-leyer gloves. The yarn being rather thin makes them very comfortable to wear and they fit like a second skin.

Women’s size.
