Estonian coastline is very long for a small area – 3800 km, the majority of which are the coastlines of the islands. The coastline of the continent is 1240 km long. Estonia has 2222 islands, most of them are very tiny. But some of them are big and tensely populated, their history and traditions reaching back thousands of years.
During this handicraft tour we will visit Ruhnu island off the western coast of Estonia and spend a lot of time near the sea in Pärnu and vicinity. We relax in a beautoful Hotel Pärnu and in a lovely rural farm house B&B in Ruhnu Island. Pärnu is a summer resort town on Baltic Sea with marvelous wide white sandy beach. We also visit Tori and Kilingi-Nõmme area, where we meet some local crafters and have a walk in Riisa bog – the biggest reservoir for fresh water.
We learn local crafts: knitting, embroidery, book binding etc.
