  • Knitted with three (red, blue and light grey) colored yarn in traditional Estonian fair-isle style. Tightly knitted using 0-size needles and DK weight yarn. Red and blue yarns are hand dyed, 100% wool from Estonia. The Light grey is natural sheep color. They are perfect to block wind and wear in winter. This pattern comes from Viru-Jaagupi area in Lääne-Viru County. It is a nice Butterfly Pattern . The cuffs are quite extraordinary, as I learned that style in Latvia, when participating in a Latvian Knitting Camp in Aprill this year. You could read more about that camp here: http://kagukudujad.blogspot.com.ee/2016/05/lati-kudumislaager-kindad-kurzeme.html But I also remembered that I had seen this style before. I looked it up and there actually is a pair of gloves in Estonian National Museum, under the code 18523, with the same cuff. Small world, especially when we are living close with our good neighbors. The gloves are colorworked all the way to the fingertips, which makes them warmer than average thin one-layer gloves. The yarn being rather thin makes them very comfortable to wear and they fit like a second skin. Women's size.
