Knitted with three colored yarn in traditional Estonian fair-isle style. The pattern is an ancient Estonian pattern from Paistu area in Viljandi County. It is depicting 8-pointed stars, crosses and squares. It is a very powerful and protective motif, which keeps away the evil.
Tightly knitted using 0-size needles and DK weight yarn. The blue yarn is hand dyed. The off-white and black are natural sheep colors, 100% wool from Estonia. The black yarn, which is actually a very dark brown, is a lamb wool. Once the sheep gets older the shade will become lighter brown.
The gloves are perfect to block wind and wear in winter. Beautiful lacy ribbing is very elegant, like a bracelet around your wrist. They are colorworked all the way to the fingertips, which makes them warmer than average thin one-layer gloves. The yarn being rather thin makes them very comfortable to wear and they fit like a second skin.
