#014: Finely Hand Knitted Seto (Estonian) Gloves in Siberian style Pink on White

94.00

Please welcome a fine work of handicraft art, where traditional Estonian knitting style is combined with Seto patterns. And this is not an ordinary pattern, but it has travelled to Siberia with expatriates from Seto area in South-East Estonia and back to home-land with folklorist, who were researching them few years ago.

Similar pair is currently on an exhibition called “Siberian Seto Floral Patterns” (please see more info at http://kagukudujad.blogspot.com/2013/02/meenutusi-naituse-avamiselt-vorumaa.html).

Tightly knitted using 0-size needles and DK weight yarn. The pink and green yarns are hand dyed, 100% Estonian wool. The off-white os natural sheep color. They are perfect to block wind and wear in winter. The cuff is finely cabled.

The gloves are colorworked all the way to the fingertips, which makes them warmer than average thin one-leyer gloves. The yarn being rather thin makes them very comfortable to wear and they fit like a second skin.

Women’s size.
